Welcome to Election Day Map ("the App"), developed and maintained by Carlton Payne III ("we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our iOS application handles your information when you use our service.
Election Day Map is designed as an on-device simulator. We do not require you to create an account, register, or provide any personal contact information to use the App.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to our own servers:
- We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or physical addresses.
- We do not have user accounts, profile pages, or social login requirements.
- We do not collect, record, or transmit your political views, map predictions, candidate customizations, or popular vote inputs.
3. Local On-Device Data Storage
All map configurations, custom candidates, margin assignments, and session settings are stored exclusively on your local iOS device using standard Apple storage mechanisms (such as UserDefaults and local sandboxed files). This data remains strictly on your device and is never uploaded to any remote server operated by us.
4. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of Election Day Map uses Google AdMob (a service provided by Google LLC) to display advertisements, including banner ads, interstitial ads, and rewarded video ads.
Google AdMob may collect and process certain non-personal data to deliver and optimize advertisements, such as:
- Device identifiers (such as the IDFA, where permitted by you).
- IP address (for coarse geographic location and fraud prevention).
- Ad interaction data and diagnostic crash logs.

5. Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
In compliance with Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, the App requests your explicit permission before accessing your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) for personalized advertising.
You may grant or decline this permission at any time. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", Google AdMob will only serve non-personalized advertisements. You can modify your tracking permission at any time via your iOS device settings (Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking).
6. In-App Purchases (StoreKit)
Election Day Map offers an optional one-time In-App Purchase to remove all advertisements permanently. All purchases are handled directly and securely by Apple through the App Store and the StoreKit framework.
We do not receive, store, or process your credit card numbers, billing addresses, or payment details. Apple provides us only with anonymous transaction confirmation tokens to unlock the ad-free features within your app.
7. Map Tiles and CDN Content
The interactive map is rendered locally using the Leaflet.js library and map tiles from OpenStreetMap. When you view the map, your device may request standard map tile images from OpenStreetMap tile servers. These requests transmit standard HTTP network headers (such as IP address and user agent) required to serve the web content.
8. Children's Privacy
Election Day Map does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. The application is an educational and forecasting tool suitable for general audiences.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
